Friday Freebies: The First Five Tools You Need To Get Started
On Monday, I talked about the Basics of Marketing. Today, I'm going to demonstrate that it does NOT "take money to make money" by letting you in on the first five tools you need to get started. These are completely free and will help you start making money online supporting orphans in Nigeria today with Project FED.
1.
Get a Free EMAIL address from Google
Zazzle, Pinterest, and Hubspot – which we will talk about
later - allow you to use your Google email
address to register. That means all of the accounts you need to run your
business can be managed with one email sign in, so that creates added
convenience.
If you already have a personal Gmail, that’s great, but DO
NOT USE IT FOR YOUR BUSINESS. Create a new email just for this business.
Keeping your business totally separate from your personal
accounts will make your life so much easier when you start making money and
you have to worry about taxes, income reporting, and other issues.
2.
Get a Free BLOG from Blogger
Before you set up an official website, start keeping a blog.
The best blog to get for free is Blogger,
not because it has the greatest features, but because of who it happens to be
owned by: Google. Because Google owns it, they will prefer your blog to other
blogs on the same topic.
Until you can afford to purchase a web domain of your own
with the money you’ve made from your business, this blog is the primary website
for your business. Do your best to match the blog name and your business email
name as closely as possible so that when you need to respond to people, they’ll
know who you are.
After you’ve gotten a few posts written and put up on the
blog, you’ll want to start promoting it on sites like Bloggernity. It’s a free blog directory.
3.
Get a Free LANDING PAGE from HubSpot
There are better tools than Hubspot to use, but you’re going to need to
wait to use them until you’ve gotten your first money in the door and can
afford to purchase your own domain and your own hosting site. For now, Hubspot’s
landing page will do just fine.
The purpose of the Hubspot landing page is to start building
up an email list of people who are interested in the content that you have to
offer and the products you are selling. That way, when you have something
special to offer, you already have a list of people who are interested in
hearing about it.
Once you have your Hubspot account, I highly recommend that
you sign up for their free Social Media Marketing
Certification training. Not only will it improve your results for your
Zazzle affiliate account, it will also help you should you want to change
careers.
4.
Get a Free PINTEREST Account
Yes, you will want a Pinterest
account to showcase your Zazzle products. Why Pinterest?
Think of Pinterest as a virtual billboard for the Project FED products
you’re posting. The platform has 459
million active users and those people come on the site specifically to look
for ideas of things to buy and things to make.
60% of those users are women, and they make most of the
buying decisions in any given household. By posting your links to Pinterest,
you are increasing the likelihood that your products will be found and
purchased.
5.
Get your FREE Zazzle Affiliate Account
Using your Google email, set yourself up a free Zazzle affiliate account. If you don’t know
how, just follow along with my YouTube
video tutorial. It will give you the step-by-step information.
You Are Now Ready to Get Started
Now that you have the tools, we’ll talk more about how to
get started making money online during Marketing Monday. I’ll discuss the 5
steps you need to take to put your new tools to use and how that relates back
to everything I taught you in the first post.
