Thanksgiving Thursday: Week 3 Updates

Find Project FED's customizable designs at Zazzle.com

There have been many shifts at Project FED, all for the betterment, but not all of those shifts came where I expected them.

Celebrating a Personal Success

Last week, I landed a brand-new client that will, if all goes well, pay significantly better than the client I lost. That means that I have less time to devote to Project FED but no less commitment to seeing the project succeed.

These additional funds will allow me to hire someone to help keep things going with my direction. I won’t see the pay for some time yet, but at least it is on the horizon.

Celebrating Our Supporters

Last week, I introduced Father Lucas, who is our Chief Operations Officer. The week before I introduced Rita Larrivee, our Chief Financial Officer. This week, I want to introduce our Chief Executive Officer, the Lord God Almighty, Christ Jesus. Without Him, I would definitely not have the energy or the resourcefulness to do what I’ve been doing.

I’ve blogged about how He taught me to “Say it with SASS” and to “Bring my best and let Him do the rest.” Today, He reminded me that in the middle of all the new demands that I am finding being placed on me, there is only one thing that truly matters: That I listen to Him.

During today’s Mass readings for July 29th, it began with readings from Exodus Chapter 40. Moses sets up the Tabernacle exactly as God instructed him to do and then God fills the Tabernacle with His presence.

The key to understanding the heart of this as it related to my feeling of having too much to do and not enough time to do it all this week are these words from versus 36-37: “In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out – until the day it lifted.”

I have to ask myself: Am I taking on work without first seeking His counsel? If He’s not behind it, it’s going to fail.

The Psalm is taken from verse 84:3-11, in which we are reminded that one day in the courts of the Lord is better than a thousand elsewhere, and it is better to lie at the threshold of the house of God than to dwell in the tents of the wicked. That is a warning – a reminder that choosing to prioritize work that God did not give me to do above work I know He wants done is ultimately a waste of time and opportunity.

Lastly, there were two readings given since it’s the feast day of St. Martha, but I knew which one was for me: Luke Chapter 10:38-42. That’s the passage where Martha complains about all the work she is doing while her sister, Mary, sits at Christ’s feet and listens.

This was a reminder to me that the most important work of all the work I can be doing is to take the time to listen to the Lord before I choose what work to do. I need to truly let Him be the Chief Executive and to lead me in all that I say and do. How good and faithful a friend is God to those who are willing to listen to Him and heed His voice!

Celebrating Progress

I figured out how to create templated products on Zazzle which means that Project FED now has several new designs that are customizable and can be personalized by people to fit their needs. In addition, we’ve added some Christmas and birthday designs to check out that are – if I do say so myself – adorable.

I have also begun to take advantage of my membership to the Wealthy Affiliate that I recommended during last Friday Freebies. The people there have been super helpful and friendly.

I wrote my blog post about the start of Project FED and have gotten a promise from someone to help me promote it on social media. That’s not increasing the size of my email list quite yet but it’s another person willing to help out, and I would definitely call that progress.

Check Back Tomorrow for More Friday Freebies

We have some excellent goodies coming your way. Check back tomorrow and see what they are.
