Thanksgiving Thursday: Week 4.

Every week brings new things to Project FED, and this week is no different. We never know what to expect or when. When God is the CEO, the unexpected is what can be expected.

Celebrating Success of a Different Kind

Last week I talked about having gained a new client and how I was excited about the prospect of financial success that would allow me to invest in Project FED.

That wasn’t what God had in mind for me, though. I took that assignment without seeking His thoughts on the matter.

Last week, we had a discussion where I clarified that some things my new client thought I was trained to do were not actually part of my job duties in previous positions I'd held. Monday, I was told that based on this information, I wasn’t going to be the right fit for what they needed.

I was paid a small portion but then side-lined for the time being. I felt relief. It freed up time for me to focus on Project FED and brought with it confirmation that this is what I am meant to be doing.

It was also a time for God to remind me that this project won’t succeed if I’m using a six-figure salary to build up the business because the people I'm trying to reach don't have that going for them, so the results I get won't be attainable for them. It will only succeed when I can show people how I was able to take a project like this with a $0 marketing budget and no money to invest in it and – through time, effort, and smart strategies – build it up to the point where it was self-sustaining.

There can be no shortcuts to success for this project. I’d gotten so excited about the potential for making six figures that I lost sight of what Project FED’s ultimate plan was, and that would have led to its failure to live up to its full potential.

This confirmation is a success of a different kind. It’s the kind of success when you’re being told that you are headed on the right path even when you haven’t seen the fruits of your labor yet.

Celebrating Our Supporters

This week’s supporter is my husband, Randell Miller, who happens to not only be my Chief Technology Officer but also doubles as my Chief Transportation Officer. When Project FED needed a website, he set it up for me. I still have to configure it and fix it up to be functional, but he made it possible.

When I have computer problems or things aren’t working with technology, he is the one who patiently fixes it. When I have an appointment with God or with the Church, he takes me to it. He’s the quiet support behind every venture I do and behind every success that I’ve achieved in life.

Celebrating Progress

We did have a little bit of progress. We had a new email sign up. That makes 3 and represents a 133% gain over the last time I reported progress.

Looking Forward to the Future

I am always looking for signs of God’s presence in my life.  I pick up pennies whenever I find them lying on the ground because when I see a penny, I hear God saying to me, “Trust in me.”

A single penny usually proceeds a small financial blessing.

Yesterday, he pointed out to me two quarters that were lying on the ground. When I see two quarters, I don’t just see two quarters. I hear God saying to me 50 times, “Trust in me.”

Those larger amounts usually proceed larger financial blessings. So here I am – looking forward to the future when God shows me what He has in mind for us next.
